Removal and installation of a radiator of system of cooling

Do not start performance of procedures before full cooling of the engine. Preventions in the beginning see also has undressed Antifreeze - the general data.

Removal

Petrol models

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

  1. On models without air conditioner disconnect a negative wire from the battery (the engine Electric equipment see the Head).
  2. On the models equipped with a central air, remove the battery with a basic arm (the engine Electric equipment see the Head). Also remove assemblage of an air cleaner with air lines.
  1. On equipped К/В models Zafira turn out fixing bolts, uncover panels передка.
  1. Separate the inlet resonator from a cover and from a sleeve of an inlet air line.
  1. Cock a lay brake. Поддомкратьте the car also establish it on props. At a corresponding complete set remove protection картера.
  2. Empty cooling system (Routine maintenance see the Head).
  3. Remove the fan in gathering (Check of serviceability of functioning, removal and installation of the fan of system of cooling see).
  1. Ослабьте a fixing collar also disconnect brought to a radiator on the right the top hose.
  1. Disconnect the bottom hose (it is brought to a radiator at the left).
  1. Also disconnect a hose of a broad tank on the left side of a radiator.
  1. On models with АТ turn out fixing bolts and disconnect from the left tank of a radiator hoses of cooling ATF. Remove copper sealing washers, - prepare for gathering of a spilt liquid (establish under branch pipes suitable drain capacities). Try to remember an order of connection of all hoses.
  2. Remove a forward bumper (the Body see the Head).
  3. For the purpose of fixing of a radiator during removal of arms of the bottom support, operating from an impellent compartment, pass two welding electrodes or two screw-drivers in lateral fastenings of a radiator.
  4. Turn out fixing bolts and separate from a radiator arms of the bottom support of fastening of assemblage to a stretcher, - arms act in film in gathering with rubber pillows.
  5. On the models equipped with a central air of air, turn out bolts of fastening of the condenser of the conditioner to a forward part of a radiator, then tie up the condenser to the panel передка, - do not disunite a line of a refrigerator path!
  1. Holding a radiator, take elements fixing it (screw-drivers or electrodes), then, having shifted downwards, liberate a radiator from support and take it from an impellent compartment.
  1. In case of need rearrange on a new radiator hinged elements.

Diesel models

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

  1. Cock a lay brake. Поддомкратьте the car also establish it on props. At a corresponding complete set remove protection картера.
  2. On models with engines DOHC, remove the storage battery with a basic arm (the engine Electric equipment see the Head), - do not forget to turn out a fastening bolt to an arm of a plait of electroconducting.
  3. Remove a forward bumper (the Body see the Head).
  4. On models with engines Y20DTH remove established under a bumper демпферный the block. Also remove assemblage intercoolerа (see the Head of the Power supply system and release).
  5. Remove a protective casing of the engine, then, on l models 1.7, remove from a back part of a radiator вентиляторную assemblage (Check of serviceability of functioning, removal and installation of the fan of system of cooling see).
  6. Remove an air cleaner, an inlet air line and the gauge of a measuring instrument of weight of air (see the Head of the Power supply system and release).
  7. On the models equipped with a central air of air, disconnect electroconducting from compressor K/V, a receiver/dehumidifier, the additional fan and the block of management of the fan of system of cooling. Disconnect from кузовного an element the tyre of grounding and take all conducting aside.
  8. Empty cooling system (Routine maintenance see the Head).
  9. Disconnect from a radiator the top and bottom hoses. Disconnect a purge hose.
  10. For the purpose of fixing of a radiator during removal of arms of the bottom support, operating from an impellent compartment, pass two welding electrodes or two screw-drivers in lateral fastenings of a radiator.
  11. Turn out fixing bolts and separate from a radiator arms of the bottom support of fastening of assemblage to a stretcher, - arms act in film in gathering with rubber pillows.
  12. On the models equipped with a central air of air, turn out bolts of fastening of the condenser of the conditioner to a forward part of a radiator, then tie up the condenser to the panel передка, - do not disunite a line of a refrigerator path! Turn out bolts of fastening of a basic arm intercoolerа.
  13. Holding a radiator, take elements fixing it (screw-drivers or electrodes), then, having shifted downwards, liberate a radiator from support and take it from an impellent compartment.
  14. In case of need rearrange on a new radiator hinged elements (the fan of system of cooling and intercooler).

Check

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

  1. After removal from the car the radiator can be checked up on presence of signs of leaks, damages and infringements of internal passableness of the heat exchanger.
  2. Remains of insects and vegetation can be removed from space between plates of the heat exchanger by blowing by the compressed air (do not forget to put on goggles!), or вычищения a soft brush. Try not to bend thin plates of the heat exchanger and not to cut about them fingers. Before installation the radiator should be washed out by giving in water from a garden hose (Routine maintenance see the Head).
  3. Check up a condition of rubber support of a radiator, in case of need make replacement of the failed components.
  4. Sources of small leaks can be closed up by means of suitable hermetic (operate according to instructions of manufacturers of means). Any more difficult repair should be made only in the conditions of a specialised workshop with application of the necessary equipment.

Installation

Installation is made in an order, the return to an order of dismantle of components. Pay attention to following moments:

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

  1. Track correctness of installation of rubber pillows of the bottom support of a radiator.
  2. Track correctness of connection and reliability of fixing by fixing collars of all hoses.
  3. In end make refuelling cooling system (Routine maintenance see the Head) and survey of its components on presence of signs of development of leaks.
