Check of serviceability of functioning and condition of components of system of a charge
Remember that infringements of functioning of system of a charge far are not necessarily connected with generator refusals. First of all always make following elementary checks:
- Check up a condition of wires of the battery in places of their their connection to polar plugs of last. Check up reliability of fastening клеммных clips;
- Check up a battery condition (Check of serviceability of functioning of system of preheat see). In case of need make additional charge of last (Routine maintenance see the Head), or replace its new;
- Check up a condition of electroconducting and electric connections of the generator and a pressure regulator;
- Check up a condition and effort of a tension приводного a generator belt (Routine maintenance see the Head). In case of need make replacement (Routine maintenance see the Head);
- Check up reliability of a tightening of bolts of fastening of the generator;
- Start the engine and estimate intensity of a noise background published by the generator;
- At a corresponding complete set, check up a condition of fusible inserts in the assembly block in an impellent compartment of the car (the Onboard electric equipment see the Head). If any of inserts has failed, make investigation and elimination of the reasons of an overload;
- Check up serviceability of functioning of a control lamp of a charge in an instrument guard of the engine. At the included ignition and the idle engine the lamp should burn. Otherwise check up a condition of a corresponding safety lock in the assembly block (the Onboard electric equipment see the Head), and also incandescent filaments actually lamps. Make necessary replacements. If the lamp and its electroconducting is perfectly in order, it is necessary to replace the generator (the Storage battery - the general information, condition check, replacement, storage and commissioning see), or to make necessary regenerative repair;
- If the control lamp continues to burn after start realisation, muffle the engine and check up a condition and effort of a tension приводного a generator belt (Routine maintenance see the Head).

- Having switched off ignition, by means of the voltmeter measure pressure given out by the battery on the back party of the generator at the disconnected consumers of the electric power (the heater fan, a radio receiver, прикуриватель, the fan of system of cooling etc., etc.). The result of measurement should make nearby 12.5 In, or hardly above if the engine worked within last hour.

- Start the engine and repeat measurement. At frequency of rotation of a cranked shaft of an order pressure should make of 1500 rpm (turns should be increased until voltmeter indications are not stabilised) 13.8—14.2 Century

- Include a headlight of headlights, start on the maximum high-speed mode the heater fan, include heating of back glass and a radio receiver, - at normal functioning of system of a charge pressure should fall to short time, then again to leave on a normal operating level about 13.5 V.Esli there is a pressure lowering more low than to 13 In, hence, serviceability of functioning of system is broken.
- Dump turns of the engine to single, - pressure of a charge should not fall below value in 13 V.Vyzhimanie of a foot brake should not lead to the further voltage reduction (more low 13).

Some low-power generators can suppose short-term lowering of developed pressure below value in 13 In, however then it should be restored quickly. |
- Disconnect all consumers of the electric power, lift turns of the engine to 1600 in a minute and again consider the voltmeter indication. Now pressure should not rise above value 15 In (the insignificant deviations in inverse proportion connected with an ambient temperature) are admissible.

If the voltmeter registers distinct from stipulated value, it is necessary to replace the generator in gathering with a pressure regulator, or to make corresponding regenerative repair in the conditions of a car-care centre workshop.
