Engines of 1.7 l SOHC
The moment of injection of fuel is calculated ECM on the basis of the analysis of the information arriving from various gauges. Check can be made only with application of the special diagnostic equipment and its performance should be entrusted to experts of car-care centre.
Engines of 1.7 l DOHC
Though on these engines the injection moment is established by means of ECM, replacement Fuel pump involves necessity of installation of base values of the moments of injection. Full check can be made only with application of the special diagnostic equipment and its performance should be entrusted to experts of car-care centre.

- If yet have not done it, remove an inlet air line with an air cleaner (Removal and installation of components of an inlet air path see). Also remove the top cover of drive ГРМ (the Engine see the Head).
- Turn out fixing bolts and remove fuel tubes of atomizers. Composers of the present Management consider that it is necessary to turn out a fixing bolt (the Engine see the Head) and to shift back assemblage маслоохладителя for the purpose of maintenance of adequate access to Fuel pump, - prepare for gathering of spilt fuel.
- Result a cranked shaft in position 45 ° before ВМТ the piston of the first cylinder (the Engine see the Head).

- Turn out the central screw of prorolling located between unions of connections of four fuel tubes in back part Fuel pump.

- Screw a nozzle in a back part of the pump and establish циферблатный a measuring instrument плунжерного type, - the given tools (Opel КМ-798) should be available at the disposal of everyone дизелиста. Null a measuring instrument in course position плунжера, and reliably tighten a lock nut / a nozzle bolt.

- Slowly rotating a cranked shaft in both directions, under measuring instrument indications define the bottom point of a course (НМТ). Having achieved demanded result, null a measuring instrument.
- Slowly turning a cranked shaft clockwise, achieve combination of an adjusting label of a pulley of a cranked shaft with the reciprocal index (position ВМТ of the end of a step of compression of the piston of the first cylinder - see the Head the Engine).
- Check up the value of a course removed by a measuring instrument плунжера with requirements of Specifications. In case of need ослабьте forward nuts and back bolts of fastening of the pump and, smoothly turning the pump case, achieve demanded result. Pump deployment to the engine leads to decrease in indications, from the engine - to increase. Having achieved satisfactory result, tighten forward nuts and back bolts with demanded effort.
- Turn a cranked shaft on one or three quarters of a turn in a normal direction (clockwise), establish плунжер the pump in НМТ (see above item 7), then null a measuring instrument.
- Slowly rotating a cranked shaft clockwise, achieve combination of an adjusting label on its pulley with the index (ВМТ pistons of 1st and 4th cylinders). Repeat check of size of a course of value of a course плунжера Fuel pump.
- If updating is required, ослабьте nuts and bolts of fastening of the pump and repeat procedure (see above subitem 9-10).
- Having defined exact value of size of a course плунжера the pump (and, means, and the injection moment) turn out a nozzle and remove a measuring instrument.
- Establish the central screw of prorolling.
- Restore initial connection топливопроводов, - track, that штуцерные nuts have been tightened with demanded effort. If removed, establish into place the case маслоохладителя and tighten a bolt of its fastening.
- Establish the top cover of drive ГРМ, an air cleaner and inlet air lines.
- "Prorolling" of fuel system is made automatically though procedure of start of the engine can take away slightly more time, than usually. Check up the engine on presence of signs of development of leaks.
