Removal and installation of a fuel tank

PERFORMANCE ORDER

On petrol models dump residual pressure in the power supply system (Sbrasyvanie of pressure in the power supply system of petrol engines see). Disconnect a negative wire from the battery.
Before removal of a fuel tank it is necessary to remove from it all fuel. As drain stopper by manufacturers it is not provided, it is necessary to remove a tank with the minimum rest of fuel, preliminary having removed its basic stock a siphon method.
Remove components of system of release of the fulfilled gases and thermofilters (the System of release of the fulfilled gases - the general information, removal and installation see).
Prop up forward wheels противооткатными boots and ослабьте an adjusting nut of a lay brake (the Brake system see the Head).
On the models, equipped with drum-type brake mechanisms of back wheels, disconnect a cable of a drive of a lay brake from the hook located before a brake drum. On models with disk brake mechanisms release the lever of a lay brake and disconnect from it a tip приводного a cable, then release a clamp and liberate a cable from a basic arm on a support (the Brake system see the Head).
Liberate a cable of a drive of a lay brake of intermediate arms and clamps and take him aside from a tank.

On models Astra disconnect electroconducting from the block of a gasoline pump / of the gauge of the expense of fuel (Removal and installation of the fuel pump - petrol models and Removal and installation of the gauge of a stock of fuel see ), - on models Zafira, the electroconducting detachment is made from under the car.

Open a cover of a jellied mouth and remove a rubber sealing ring. Turn out a bolt of fastening of a mouth to a body.

Remove the right back wheel, give fixing screws and nuts and remove локер protection of a wheel arch.
Mark and disconnect from a mouth two small hoses, preliminary having weakened collars of their fastening.
Release collars and disconnect топливопроводы, brought to the basis of a jellied mouth. Turn out the bottom bolt of fastening of a jellied mouth and take last from under the car.
Walk on fuel lines from a tank to a place of their nearest fastening. Mark and disconnect both hoses, preliminary having weakened collars of their fastening.

If sockets of fast joining are applied to fastening of hoses, operate according to instructions (Check of a condition and replacement of fuel lines and them штуцерных connections see).

On petrol models separate the fuel filter from an assembly strip of fastening of a fuel tank.

Prop up a tank тележечным a jack, preliminary having laid on a head of the last a board piece.
Turn out fixing bolts and remove assembly strips.
Smoothly lower a tank, in passing disconnecting all hoses. Take a tank from under the car.
If in a tank water has accumulated, uncover a gasoline pump / of the gauge of the expense of fuel (Removal and installation of the fuel pump - petrol models see) and remove from a tank the fuel rests. If at a tank there are moisture traces, wash out its pure fuel. The tank is made of plastic and at serious damages is subject to replacement. Insignificant defects can be eliminated in the conditions of a specialised workshop.
Installation is made in an order, the return to an order of dismantle of components. Pay attention to following moments:
1. Track, that at tank installation have not appeared the hoses laid over it are pressed.
2. Track reliability of a tightening of fixture of assembly strips.
3. Track correctness of connection and reliability of fixing of all шланговых and electric connections.
4. Do not forget to make adjustment of a lay brake (the Brake system see the Head).
5. Before the first trip fill in in a tank a small amount of fuel and check up it on presence of signs of development of leaks.
