Checks of serviceability of functioning of system of ignition

The general information

All components of the power supply system differ high degree of reliability. The majority of refusals, as a rule, appear connected with infringement of quality of contact connections of electroconducting. Breakdowns ВВ of electroconducting occur owing to pollution, humidifying or infringement of integrity of isolation more often. Before definitively to affirm as opinion on failure any of system components attentively check up a condition of electroconducting of a corresponding contour.

Composers of the present Management do not recommend to carry out check of condition ВВ of conducting by such popular way as a detachment of wires from candles and approach клеммного a tip to a block surface, - such procedure is fraught not only electrotrauma reception, but failure of the module of management or the ignition coil. At infringement of stability of turns of the engine do not disconnect ВВ a wire from candles!

Resulted below check it is necessary to carry out at obvious infringements, such as refusal of a starter or occurrence of admissions of ignition. Some malfunctions are not so obvious and can not be shown at all in view of automatic transition of a control system in functioning emergency operation. This sort of refusals have usually an effect in only indirect way (on increase of the expense of fuel, infringement of stability of turns of idling, decrease in capacity developed by the engine, etc.), - address for consultations to experts of car-care centre.

The engine is not started

Refusal of start of the engine can be a consequence of failure иммобилизатора anticreeping system, - disconnect the alarm system and system immobilization (the Operation manual see the Head).


 PERFORMANCE ORDER

  1. If the engine is not turned at inclusion of a starter or turned very slowly, check up a starter and the storage battery. Connect the voltmeter to plugs of the battery and measure pressure at проворачивании a cranked shaft by a starter.

Do not include a starter continuously more, than for 10 seconds. If the voltmeter registers the indication in 9.5 In and more low, check up serviceability of a condition of the battery, a starter and components of system of a charge (charge and start Systems see).

  1. If the engine is not started despite serviceability проворачивания by its starter, check up a condition of all ВВ a contour of system of ignition.
  2. Following instructions of manufacturers, connect a stroboscope and turn the engine a starter, - if the lamp on a stroboscope lights up, hence, pressure regularly stands out on spark plugs.   3. At serviceability infringement искрообразования check up a condition of the coil / of the module of ignition by its replacement on obviously serviceable, or check of resistance of windings. If after replacement of the coil / of the module the engine has started to be started, do not hasten to throw out the old coil, - before a condition of its contact plugs and reliability of connection to them of electroconducting.

If the coil is perfectly in order, probably the cause of a failure is covered in infringement of serviceability of functioning a part ECM the powerful buffer target cascade, one of information gauges of a control system with the engine, or any accompanying knot. In a similar situation in memory of processor ECM the corresponding diagnostic code is usually brought, - reading of codes of malfunctions is made by means of the special diagnostic equipment (the engine Electric equipment see the Head).

Ignition admissions

Quality infringement клеммных connections of electroconducting of the coil / of the module of ignition or any of information gauges appears the reason of admissions of ignition more often.

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

  1. Switch off ignition and check up reliability of fixing of all contact sockets of system of ignition.
  2. Check up condition ВВ of electroconducting, - estimate reliability of fixing of candle wires in intermediate clamps, make sure that wires do not concern metal parts of the power unit. If the wire concerns metal and at it isolation at work of the engine the spark will move not on a candle, and on weight is damaged. At detection of signs even insignificant damage of isolation at least one wire replace all complete set.

The most reliable way of check is replacement of the complete set of candle electroconducting on obviously serviceable.

Replacement of wires make serially in order to avoid infringement of an order of ignition. Try not to admit isolation or socket damage.

If ВВ conducting is serviceable, the reason of admissions of ignition refusal of the coil / of the module or any of spark plugs can be. Change candles (Routine maintenance see the Head). In ignition admissions can result also failure or pollution of the gauge of position of a cranked shaft (see the Head of the Power supply system and release). If during the checks spent independently to reveal a cause of infringement it is not possible, the car should be driven away on a car repair shop for performance of full diagnostics of a control system with application of the special equipment (the System of onboard self-diagnostics OBD - the general information and Application of an oscillograph for supervision of workers of a control system see).
