Removal, check of a condition and installation of a brake drum

Remember that developed in the course of work of brake mechanisms the dust can contain extremely unhealthy the person asbestos. At all do not blow off a dust the compressed air and do not inhale it, — at service of mechanisms put on a protective mask or a respirator. At all do not use for rubbing of components of brake system by gasoline or solvents on an oil basis, — apply only firm cleaners or methyl spirit!

Removal

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

  1. Remove a cap of a wheel and ослабьте wheel bolts. Prop up forward wheels противооткатными boots, поддомкратьте a back of the car and establish it on props. Remove a corresponding back wheel.
  2. Completely release a lay brake.
  1. Turn out fixing screw of a drum
  1. Remove a drum, — in case of need if the drum on gives in to removal, take заглушку from an aperture in a brake board and reduce boots, having wrung out the executive lever of a lay brake a screw-driver.

Check

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

  1. Сметите from components of the brake mechanism accumulated on from surfaces a dust (the prevention in the beginning see).
  2. Check up a condition of an internal working surface of a drum, in case of revealing of furrows or deep scratches replace drums of both brake mechanisms.
  3. Insignificant defects can be eliminated a way проточки a drum provided that the maximum admissible size of its diameter will not be exceeded.

Both drums are subject проточке on identical depth. Composers of the present Management recommend after проточки to make drums replacement of brake boots.

Installation

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

  1. Before drum installation Make sure that the executive lever is densely pressed to a boot edge.
  2. Establish a drum and tighten with demanded effort fixing bolt. In case of need reduce boots by rotation of an adjusting wheel разжимной laths for the purpose of unobstructed landing of a drum.
  3. For the purpose of activation of the adjusting mechanism some times squeeze out a pedal of a foot brake, — ask the assistant to listen to clicks published mechanisms. The clicking termination testifies to adjustment end.
  4. Establish a wheel, lower the car on the earth and tighten wheel nuts with demanded effort.
