Repair and car operation

Removal, regenerative repair and installation of a rack of a forward suspension bracket

Replacement of both racks should be made simultaneously for the purpose of preservation of characteristics of stability and controllability of the car. It is recommended to replace all carving fixture without fail also.

Removal

PERFORMANCE ORDER

Cock a lay brake, поддомкратьте redock of the car and establish it on props. Remove a corresponding forward wheel.
Keeping a finger from проворачивания for лыски рожковым a key, give a nut of fastening of vertical draught of the stabilizer of cross-section stability. Disconnect draught from a suspension bracket rack.
Take a clamp and liberate a hose from a basic arm on a rack.
Liberate from a clamp on a rack electroconducting of the gauge of deterioration колодок. On models with ABS disconnect electroconducting from the wheel gauge.
Mark rack position in relation to a rotary fist, turn out two bolts of fastening (2) racks to a rotary fist, - try to remember adjusting position of bolts. Liberate a fist from an arm (1) on a rack and lay it on a suitable prop.
Ask the assistant to keep a rack through a wheel arch. In an impellent compartment remove a protective cap of the top support of a rack and release the top fixing nut, - keep a rod of the shock-absorber from проворачивания the second key.
Remove from a rack a plate of the top support, - on models Zafira for the purpose of providing of access to a nut (2) it is necessary to remove established ahead of a windscreen plastic дефлектор.
Lower a rack and take it through a wheel arch.

Repair

For carrying out of this operation the adaptation for compression of screw springs is required.

PERFORMANCE ORDER

Clamp rack-mount assemblage in a vice with soft sponges and by means of the special adaptation compress a screw spring, completely having unloaded cups. Track reliability of landing on a spring of the compressing adaptation, - operate strictly according to the instructions stated in the instruction of manufacturers.
Holding a rod of the shock-absorber with a key, turn away a nut.
Remove top rubber демпфер, the top cup of a spring with the bearing, the buffer of a course of compression (if it is provided) and a screw spring (see an illustration the Design of a rack of a forward suspension bracket). Examine components on presence of mechanical damages, check up smoothness of a course of a rod of the shock-absorber. Replace the failed components. Survey the rack shock-absorber on presence of signs of development of leaks. Make sure that on a rod on all its length there are no traces of damage of metal corrosion, and also signs of mechanical damages. Keeping the shock-absorber vertically, check up serviceability of its functioning, both on full, and on short (50—100 mm) to a rod course. In both cases resistance should be soft, equal and constant. At revealing of signs of malfunction it is necessary to make replacement of both shock-absorbers. Remove the adaptation compressing a spring and attentively examine it on presence of signs of deformation and mechanical damages. In case of need replace both springs of a forward suspension bracket. The springs which have given and not developing due effort are subject to replacement also. Check up a condition of other components of rack-mount assemblage. Replace the failed details.
Again having compressed a spring, establish it on a rack, the bottom end having rested against a stopper.
Establish a chipper, the top cup and демпфер with the bearing. Screw a nut of a rod and tighten it with demanded effort, keeping a rod from проворачивания the second key. Slowly release a spring and make sure that both its ends rest against stoppers of cups. In case of need correct appropriate amount of position of cups, only after that definitively remove from a spring compressing adaptation.

Installation

Installation is made in an order, the return to an order of dismantle of components. Pay attention to following moments.

PERFORMANCE ORDER

Replace two bolts of fastening of a rack to a rotary fist and both top nuts.
Tighten all fixture with demanded effort.
In summary drive away the car in a specialised workshop for check and updating of corners of installation of forward wheels.
